Following the success of its October volunteer event at Vale Walk, Congleton in Bloom is inviting residents to join its next community town tidy on Saturday 7th November.
Volunteers will be helping to weed and tidy St Peter’s Church graveyard, the path to the cemetery and Cockshuts, while a range of autumn tasks will also be taking place at the Community Garden on Lawton Street.
Volunteers are invited to meet at the Community Garden at 10am, where they can choose to join the team heading to St Peter’s Church or stay at the garden to help with seasonal tasks. Alternatively, volunteers can meet directly at the church at 10.15am.
Everyone is welcome to take part, with all equipment provided and no previous experience necessary.
Glen Williams, Congleton’s Town Tidy Champion, said:
“It’s fantastic to see local people coming together to make a real difference to our town. The success of our October event at Vale Walk showed what can be achieved when volunteers give a little of their time. We hope even more people will join us at St Peter’s to help keep Congleton looking its best.”
The event offers an opportunity for residents to get involved in their community, meet other volunteers and help maintain some of Congleton’s much-loved outdoor spaces.
