Residents across Cheshire East are invited to come together this Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served in the Armed Forces and for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Remembrance services, parades, and wreath-laying ceremonies will take place across the borough, including events in Crewe, Nantwich, Knutsford, Poynton, Macclesfield, and Alsager, with communities observing the national two-minute silence on Remembrance Sunday (8th November) and Armistice Day (11th November).
Councillor Judy Snowball, the mayor of Cheshire East will represent the borough at a number of commemorative events, including the Manchester Airport Festival of Remembrance, Malbank High School Remembrance Service, Macclesfield Town Council Remembrance Service, Alsager Royal British Legion Remembrance Service, and the Macclesfield Town Council Armistice Service.
Remembrance provides an opportunity for us all to pause, reflect and honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended the freedoms we enjoy today. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten and residents are encouraged to attend their local service, pay their respects, and join communities across Cheshire East in remembering those who served.
