New manager Mark Yates says the club is "on a high" as he takes over at Moss Rose.
Macclesfield Town's new boss Mark Yates says he wants to start the season strong after taking over at Moss Rose.
The man responsible for saving Solihull Moors from relegation last season takes over after previous manager John Askey took the reigns at Shrewsbury Town. Yates has also been in charge at Kidderminster, Cheltenham and Crawley.
The new boss has also added Neil Howarth and Danny Whitaker, who surpassed four hundred appearances for the team last season to his backroom staff.
Yate's first game in charge will be against Swindon Town, with the next game against Grimsby his first home game as the Silkmen make their start in League Two.
Speaking after his appointment was confirmed Yates said he wants to start the season right.
"The club is on a high, it’s a club with momentum and we want to make sure we are starting right with recruitment and everything we do make the training ground as good as it can be. That’s what we want, to be the best we can be, to be as competitive as we can and build on the success that’s happened over the previous few years."
