Prolific shoplifter jailed in Crewe

A man from Crewe has been jailed after he admitted stealing more than £6,000 worth of goods from stores in the town.

Adrin Pirvu appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday 3rd September where he was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.

The 34-year-old, of Westminster Street in Crewe, had earlier pleaded guilty to counts of shoplifting in relation to offences at Asda and Boots between Sunday 16th August and Sunday 30th August.

Following the sentencing, Police Constable Declan Shaughnessy of Crewe Beat Team, said:

“Pirvu is a prolific offender and relentlessly targeted a local supermarket over a two-week period, stealing more than £6,000 worth of items.

“He has no regard for how his crimes affect local businesses and I am grateful that he has now been hauled back to prison for these offences.

“We are dedicated to ensuring our communities remain a safe place to live, work and visit, and removing individuals like Pirvu, who are intent on committing crime and causing misery, remains a top priority.”
