Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following reports of an indecent exposure in Macclesfield.
Shortly after 8am on Tuesday 16th December, a 15-year-old girl was walking along the A537, Buxton Road.
As she approached the junction of Lark Hill Road, she noticed a white lorry/ box van which was parked facing Buxton Old Road.
The teenager noticed a man sat inside the vehicle and could see that the window was down. As she walked past, the man appeared to say something to the girl, so she turned to say ‘good morning’.
However, as she turned to speak to the man, she witnessed him stood at the side of the vehicle exposing himself. The teenager quickly turned away and continued walking down Buxton Road.
The man was described as white, of average build, aged between 30-40 with short brown hair. He was also wearing a black coloured jumper.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and as officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.
Detective Constable James Read, of the Eastern Area Protecting Vulnerable Persons unit said:
“This was an absolutely terrifying ordeal for the victim, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to identify the person responsible.
“The incident itself occurred at rush hour, and as part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
“The same goes for anyone who was driving on Buxton Road and may have any dashcam footage which could aid our investigation.”
