Officers are appealing for information following a serious collision in Macclesfield.
At around 11.30pm on Thursday 3 November, a report was received that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen Golf and a black vehicle on the A537 at Broken Cross.
The pedestrian, a 40-year-old local man, was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with serious, life-threatening injuries. He remains in a serious but stable condition.
The black vehicle left the scene. A 41-year-old local woman was arrested and remains in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have information to get in touch.
Sergeant Russ Sime said: “This is a busy stretch of road and we know that there would have been a number of vehicles travelling at this time. We are keen to hear from anyone travelling on Broken Cross who may have witnessed pedestrians in the area in the lead-up to the collision.
“The same goes to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area at the above times.
“Any information no matter how small it may seem, could assist with our investigation.”
