Police are appearing for witnesses and video footage following a serious collision in Middlewich.
Shortly after 6.30pm on Monday 4 September, police were called to reports of a collision on Booth Lane.
Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a light blue/white Volkswagen Transporter and a black BMW 118D, near to the junction of Tetton Lane.
The driver of the transporter van, a 58-year-old local man, suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident; he was airlifted to hospital and his injuries are described as life-changing.
The driver of the BMW fled the scene following the collision after being collected by a man in a white vehicle.
Two men have since been arrested in connection to the incident and they are currently being held in police custody.
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.
Police Constable Robin Fisher, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation unit, said:
“This investigation is ongoing and we committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what has taken place.
“As part of our investigation, we’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the aftermath of the incident.
