Police investigating a serious collision in Northwich are appealing for any witnesses, or those with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
Shortly before 3.15pm on Tuesday 19 September, police were called regarding reports of a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Fishpool Road and Abbey Lane along the A54 Middlewich Road.
The incident involved a blue MG TF and a flat bed truck - a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter - which was loaded with a Ford Fiesta.
The driver of the MG TF, a 76-year-old man from Neston, was taken to Aintree Hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital at this time.
The A54 Middlewich Road and the B5152 Abbey Lane were closed in both directions as a result. All closures were lifted at around 9.20pm.
As part of enquiries into the incident, police are now appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
Sergeant Simon Degg said:
“Our investigation is ongoing and as part of our enquiries, we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage."
