Officers investigating a fatal collision in Adlington are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
At around 7.45am on Wednesday 7 August, police were called to reports of a collision on the A523 Poynton Relief Road.
The collision involved a silver Peugeot 208 and a blue Mercedes A Class.
The driver of the Peugeot was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 35-year-old woman, has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. She remains in police custody at this time.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, has any dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to the incident, or any other information which could aid their investigation to get in touch.
Sergeant Russell Sime said:
“Enquiries are currently ongoing, and we are now looking to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened.
“The same goes for anyone who may have any dashcam footage which could help our investigation."
