Payment for parking at Shirleys car park in Prestbury is now via the RingGo app only.
Cheshire East Council has made the decision following repeated incidents of vandalism to the payment machines, which has led to costly replacements and repairs.
Motorists will no longer be able to pay by cash or card using the pay and display machine. Payment will be via the RingGo mobile phone app only.
Motorists who are not able to use the RingGo app can still use RingGo by calling: 020 3046 0010 and making payment that way.
They can also use a text message to park by texting 81025.
Here is some further information and guidance about using RingGo.
Signs providing information about the changes are on display at the car park.
