Tomasz Borowski, 35, of Cheshire, has been given a suspended prison sentence for his role in a £120,000 funeral plan fraud.
Borowski, 35, of Ellesmere Port was convicted for conspiring with two others to defraud a funeral plan company.
The prosecution came following a five year investigation by the City of London Police's Insurance Fraud Department, and the court found him guilty for conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
Borowski had been working as an agent of a business called Information Station and had been tasked with bringing in customers from the Polish community.
The business was authorised by the funeral plan company to sell policies to which Borowski and his co-conspirators would earn commission for each new plan opened.
In reality, he used fake names and bank details to create fictitious customers and claim the commission payments. Fake mobile phone numbers were also set up and answered when the funeral company called alleged plan holders.
Suspicions were raised at the funeral plan company when they began having issues with the customers Borowski has referred.
Borowski, who worked with fellow fraudsters James Conroy and Susanna Connor, was handed a two year suspended prison sentence by Liverpool Crown Court, and given a curfew for three months.
