Congleton county lines drug dealer jailed

A county lines drug dealer, who was involved in the supply of drugs into Congleton, has been jailed for two and a half years.

Nadia Stanway appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday 12 May where she was sentenced to 30 months.

The 40-year-old of Moss Road, Congleton, had earlier admitted to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

Stanway was initially arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs on Thursday 12 January. She was subsequently released on conditional bail following her arrest and was prevented from entering specified areas within Congleton town centre as part of her imposed conditions.

The case began to take shape on Friday 17 February when two officers spotted Stanway walking through Antrobus Street, Congleton, an area that she was excluded from as stated in her bail conditions. She was swiftly arrested and taken to police custody for drugs offences.

During her arrest, it was noted that Stanway’s mobile phone was ringing continuously, and a number of known drug users were congregating within the near vicinity of where she was first seen by officers.

Evidence gathered by officers from Operation Apollo (an ongoing investigation into the supply of drugs within the Congleton area), confirmed that Stanway was controlling a county line in Congleton.

Stanway was subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

Following the sentencing, Detective Inspector Robert Balfour of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “This result demonstrates our efforts to ensure those who deal drugs in our communities are caught and brought to justice.

"The damage that illegal drugs can cause to individuals and communities can be catastrophic and we will do everything in our power to put these offenders before the courts.

“Through our enquiries, it became clear that Stanway played a key role in the supply of class A drugs and was intent on continuing her criminal exploits in the Congleton area.

“Thankfully, as a result of all of the evidence we gathered during our investigation, Stanway is now behind bars.

“Information from the public is vital and I would like to thank residents in the local community who came forward to assist with our enquiries, their support allowed for a quick conclusion in this case.

"I urge anyone with any information about suspected drug related activity in their community to get in touch."
