Detectives investigating a serious assault in Congleton Park have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
At 6.58pm on Friday 9 June a man and a woman were walking through the park when a teenager, who was with a group of teenagers, got into an altercation with them.
At some point between the park and Willow Street a man, who is thought to be known by the group of teenagers present, approached the victim and punched him in the face causing serious injuries.
The suspect is described as white, with a bald head, and aged about 50.
He was wearing a yellow high-vis t-shirt, and black/dark grey workers trousers. He had a large black dog with him.
DC Dave Wilkinson said: “I’d urge anyone who recognises the man to get in touch so we can progress our enquiries.”
