The family of a 59-year-old woman who was fatally injured in a collision in Alsager have paid tribute to her.
At 7.22am on Friday 28 March, police received reports of a collision at the junction with Crewe Road and Close Lane, Alsager.
The collision involved a Lexus NX and a fire engine, which is believed to have been responding to an emergency call.
The driver of the Lexus, Judy Lea, from Alsager, sadly died following the collision.
Paying tribute to Judy, her family said:
“Judy will be forever missed by her husband and three children, as well as countless friends. Her loss will forever leave a huge hole in our lives, and she will never be forgotten.
"Anybody who knew Judy would know how she would always be the first to help any loved one, friend or neighbour with anything they required, no matter how large or small.
"Her kind heart and nurturing nature is the reason why she is leaving behind so many loved ones, friends and family members.
"Alongside her personal life, Judy dedicated her life to her career of Optometry where not only did she build a successful practice to care for her community, but she was also passionate about improving the quality of eye care for the public, improving diabetic eye care services in her local area and was also instrumental in training thousands of Optometrists throughout her career.
"Words cannot truly capture the devastating loss that we as her family and friends are currently experiencing, as we all know we have lost a very special soul.”
An investigation remains underway and as part of their enquiries, officers are appealing for information in relation to the collision.
Any witnesses to the collision who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police via:
