Officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit have closed a disruptive address that negatively impacted on the day-to-day lives of their neighbours through drug-related crime.
The property on Beaufort Close, Hartford has been shut down by officers following the securing of a closure order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 at Chester Magistrates' Court on Thursday 3 April.
The order, which came into effect Thursday, will run for three months and is a direct result of officers responding to the concerns of residents regarding anti-social behaviour and drug dealing.
Officers from Northwich worked alongside and encouraged local residents to come forward to provide evidence against their disruptive neighbour is a great example of communication between officers and the public.
For the next three months, the occupant will need to find alternative accommodation, as all windows and doors into the address have been secured.
Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
Police Constable Adam Baxter, of Northwich South Neighbourhood Team, said:
“Our Neighbourhood Beat Teams work tirelessly day in and day out to keep local communities and residents safe, and by securing this closure, we have kept that promise.
"This was an example of excellent community engagement between our team of officers and those who lived in the area, who have been incredibly supportive and are extremely grateful for the closure – without them, we would not have secured this result that we have today.
“I want to urge anyone with concerns about ASB or other criminality in their community to please contact local officers and we will do everything we can to address these issues head-on and achieve justice.”
Anyone with concerns about anti-social or suspicious behaviour in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via:
