HMRC Scam

If you receive a pre-recorded message from telephone number 01227708977 saying it is from HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) this is totally false.

The message suggests that you are in arrears and goes on to say there is a Warrant for your arrest unless you reply by pressing 1 to answer.

DO NOT PRESS 1 AS THIS WILL CONNECT YOU TO A PREMIUM RATE LINE.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS TYPE OF CALL.

HMRC will NEVER contact you in this manner.

Never supply any personal information over the phone.

If you have any doubts as to the identity of a caller hang up and contact the organisation through their official site to check.

 A member of the public has alerted us to another number using the same method.

This time it is a local number - 01928 628376

The same advice applies. Do not respond this is a fraudulent number as it's NOT connected to HMRC
