The LOL Cheshire X Mayor of Knutsford Comedy Night held on the 27th September at Knutsford Little Theatre, was an overwhelming success, raising over £1,200 in support of the Town Mayor’s chosen charities for 2024/25, The Welcome and Just Drop-In.
The sold out, laughter-filled evening featured a stellar lineup of comedians including Roger Monkhouse, MC Dave Williams, Kate McCabe and Howard Anstock who entertained guests while contributing to a wonderful cause.
The Mayor of Knutsford, Cllr Colin Banks, alongside the LOL Cheshire team headed by Paul Langley, expressed their thanks to everyone who made the evening possible. Special recognition goes to the incredible volunteers from Knutsford Little Theatre, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the event ran smoothly. Additionally, a big thank you was made to Cllrs April Johnson and Rex Meers, Dee and David Griffiths, and big Lou Comedy, not to mention thanks to all the guests who generously bought raffle tickets on the evening.
Cllr Colin Banks said:
“It was an incredible night of comedy. Raising over £1,200 is a fantastic achievement, a highlight of the evening was a mass sign-along to help promote my next event ‘Curry-Oke’ on the 18th October at Shaw Health Social club.”
The next Mayoral fundraising event is a Curry-Oke which combines a handmade curry with an evening of karaoke entertainment.
