Detectives investigating a robbery outside a restaurant in Alderley Edge have arrested a man in relation to the incident.
At around 10pm on Saturday 29th March, a 35-year-old woman was walking on the car park outside San Carlo restaurant on Wilmslow Road when she was approached by an unknown man who was wearing a balaclava.
The man threatened the victim before stealing a gold Rolex watch and a Birkin handbag.
Following enquiries by detectives at Macclesfield CID, officers have today, Wednesday 2 April, arrested a man in relation to the incident.
The 25-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He is currently being held in police custody.
Detective Inspector Dave Jarvis said:
“This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, and I hope that today’s arrest will provide her with some comfort.
“I also hope that the arrest will provide some reassurance to the local community, demonstrating that we are committed to doing all we can to identify those who commit crime.”
