Detectives investigating an armed robbery at a betting shop in Winsford have arrested a man in connection with the incident.
The 40-year-old local man was arrested earlier today, Wednesday 10th August, after officers conducted a warrant at an address on Station Road.
He has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and is currently being held in police custody.
The arrest follows an armed robbery at the Betfred store on Jubilee Way which occurred at around 12.20pm on Thursday 4 August.
Detective Sergeant James Elliott, of Northwich CID, said: “This investigation remains very much ongoing, although I hope that today’s arrest provides reassurance for the local community.
"While our enquiries continue, I urge anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed the incident, or may have seen anything suspicious or unusual, to get in touch.
"The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant to our investigation.
