A man from Northwich has been jailed thanks to information from the local community.
Ryan Moss appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 5 October where he was sentenced to three years in prison.
The 34-year-old of Waterbank Row, Northwich, had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A (cocaine) and class B (ketamine) drugs between 21 June 2023 and 6 September 2023.
He also admitted resisting arrest and possession with intent to supply class A drugs (cocaine).
The investigation into Moss began in June 2023 after police received information from the local community that he was dealing drugs in the Northwich area.
Over the following months detectives monitored Moss’s activities and built up a catalogue of evidence against him.
A drugs warrant was secured at his home on Waterbank Row on Wednesday 6 September. However, on the morning of the warrant officers discovered that he was not at home.
Undeterred, officers attended an address linked to Moss on Boundary Lane North, Cuddington and he was arrested leaving an address shortly after 7am.
Moss violently resisted arrest but was quickly brought under control by officers using captor spray.
During a subsequent search officers discovered a Kinder egg capsule which contained a quantity of cocaine and ketamine valued at approximately £225, several mobile phones were also seized.
An Audi, a Hugo Boss watch and a pair Moncler trainers were also seized from Moss’s home under the proceeds of crime act (POCA), A hearing will now take place to determine what happens to the items.
Following the sentencing Detective Constable Claire Heatley, of Northwich Proactive Policing Team, said:
“This is a fantastic result, and it truly shows the value of information from the local community.
“During his interview Moss refused to answer any questions in relation to supplying drugs, however thanks to the information provided to us and the evidence we secured against him, he had no option but to plead guilty to all the charges against him.
“As well as bringing Moss to justice, we hope this sentence acts as a warning to others planning to deal drugs in the Northwich area.
“We’re committed to doing all we can to make Cheshire a hostile place for criminals and information from the public is vital in our ongoing fight against illegal drugs."
