A man from St Helens has admitted breaking into a garage near Northwich.
Mark Brennan appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 October where he pleaded guilty to burglary other than a dwelling.
The charge relates to a burglary at the Four Lanes Garage in Marston on Wednesday 12 April.
Brennen broke into the building via the roof and once inside he conducted an untidy search and stole approximately £90 worth of cigarettes.
The 39-year-old was identified as the suspect after officers found traces of his DNA at the scene.
He was subsequently arrested on Sunday 1 October after officers conducted a warrant at his address on Broad Oak Road, in St Helens.
During questioning Brennan refused to answer any questions, but he subsequently pleaded guilty on his first appearance in court.
He has been released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 30 October.
