Officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit are working in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester Council, and Northwich Town Council, to help tackle ongoing issues at an ASB hotspot.
Over recent months officers have received a number of reports in relation to ongoing criminal damage and ASB at the former Leftwich Green Community Support Centre on Kingsley Drive, Leftwich.
Following the concerns, a joint meeting took place on-site on Wednesday 4 September where officers from Cheshire Police, along with councillors from both Cheshire West & Chester Council, and Northwich Town Council, discussed what was happening with the building and how the site could be made more secure.
As a result, a new metal security fence was installed on the site on Friday 6 September to help deter offenders from attempting to access the building. The new fencing has been coated in anti-vandal paint and is also bolted to the existing building.
PCSO Lee Robertson, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said:
“I understand the frustrations of local residents and I want to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to tackle the ongoing issues at the former support centre and I hope that the new fencing will also act as a further deterrent.
“In addition, we can confirm that we’ve also arrested one teenager in relation to an incident at the site and several other youths have also been spoken to.
“Moving forward, we’ll continue to conduct regular patrols of the site and I would urge anyone with any information in relation to any of the damage or ASB at the site to get in touch."
