The biggest night in Blackpool’s event calendar – the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On - will take place on Friday 29th August 2025.
Fresh from his UK-wide arena tour, pop superstar Olly Murs will take to the stage on Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland to deliver an hour-long set, completely free, before he flicks the switch to trigger six miles of Illuminations.
Olly will be joined by English rock band Toploader. With a career spanning over two decades and more than two million album sales worldwide, the 'Dancing in the Moonlight' trio have played alongside some of the biggest names in music, most recently supporting James Blunt on his UK arena tour earlier this year.
Completing the Switch-On line-up is X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, plus a special ‘Blackpool Introduces’ showcase spotlighting some of the best local talent.
We will also be introducing a live screening zone on the promenade, allowing those who miss out on tickets to soak up the atmosphere and be a part of what promises to be an exciting evening of entertainment.
Gates open at 4pm with performances approximately starting from 5.30pm. Full timings will be released in the coming weeks.
