A third man who was involved in a burglary in Wilmslow has now been jailed.
Damian Ormiston appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday 15th August, where he was sentenced to 2 years 8 months in prison.
The 41-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of burglary with intent to steal.
The court heard how on Sunday 23rd March 2025, Ormiston, along with two other offenders, Dale Fitzpatrick and Geoffrey Pearson, broke into an address on Mobberley Road, Wilmslow, via a skylight.
Once inside the address the trio stole three high value cars, a Range Rover Evoque, a Range Rover Velar, and a Ford Ranger, along with a large quantity of jewellery.
Fitzpatrick and Pearson were both arrested shortly after the burglary when they were stopped by police in GMP driving one of the vehicles that had been stolen.
The pair were later jailed for a combined total of six years and eight months on Wednesday 23 April after they pleaded guilty to burglary.
Fitzpatrick, 40, of no fixed abode, was jailed for three years, while Pearson, 47, of Nelstrop Road, Heaton Chapel, was sentenced to three years and eight months behind bars.
Following continued investigation to establish the third offender involved, Ormiston was identified from review of telecommunications data and the phone download seized from Fitzpatrick linking him to the burglary. He was later arrested and charged in relation to the incident on Tuesday 20 May.
Following the sentencing Detective Sergeant Laura Fox, of Macclesfield Proactive CID, said:
“Burglary is a horrific offence, to know that an intruder has been inside your home is something nobody should have to experience and as this result demonstrates, the team here within Macclesfield Proactive CID are committed to doing all we can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
“Ormiston, Fitzpatrick and Pearson are all prolific offenders, they clearly targeted the victim’s address with the intention of stealing high-powered motor vehicles and high-value jewellery, with little regard to the subsequent emotional impact such offences have upon its victims.
“Thankfully, as a result of the dedicated work by officers, the trio have now been held accountable for their actions. Between them they are now facing more than 9 (9 years 4 months) years in prison.
“I hope that the sentences handed to these men will provide some closure to the victims, and I welcome the fact they are all now back behind bars. I hope this also provides some reassurance to our local communities.
“Our message is clear, no matter where you travel from, if you come to Cheshire to commit crime, you will be caught and you will be brought to justice.”
