Detectives investigating the supply of illegal drugs in the Macclesfield area have arrested two people.
At around 5.30am on Tuesday 9 September, officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) executed a warrant at an address Princes Way, Macclesfield, as part of an investigation into the supply illegal drugs in the area.
A 36-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the address on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs, possession of criminal property and money laundering.
The pair are currently being held in police custody.
Following the arrests, Detective Sergeant David, of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit at Cheshire Police, said:
“Today’s warrant is part of our ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related crime in the Macclesfield area and hope that the arrests provide reassurance for local residents.
“The impact of illegal drugs is well known, and we’re committed to doing all we can to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
“Information from the public is vital and I’d urge anyone with any information in relation to drug-related activity in their community to get in touch."
