Silvertown Taxis, based in Macclesfield, have set up a community initiative to help the elderly during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Silvertown Taxis in Macclesfield have decided to utilise their cars to help the elderly during the Coronavirus outbreak. Drivers have offered to pick up essential shopping items or medication for the most vulnerable in society, who have been advised by the government to self-isolate.
The government have recommended that all those over 70 self-isolate for a period of 12 weeks to help prevent exposure, as they are considered 'high risk.'
Macclesfield has a large ageing population, so services like this are essential to those elderly people who may not have family near them to help, so they can access the necessities while staying protected.
Silvertown Taxis are offering this free service to senior citizens in the local area and are encouraging those who are struggling to contact them immediately on 01625 42 44 44
