People are being urged to act now if they want to stand as candidates in this May’s local elections.
People have until 4pm on Tuesday 4 April to register their nomination with the Returning Officer at Cheshire East Council.
Would-be candidates in the 4 May borough, town and parish elections are urged to deliver their nomination papers as soon as possible – and not leave it too late.
Returning Officer Dr Lorraine O’Donnell said: “I would encourage people, who wish to stand in the local elections, to submit their completed forms as soon as possible – to avoid missing the deadline set by law.
“Submitting paperwork well in advance of the deadline will help ensure that, if there are any issues with the required paperwork, these can hopefully be resolved before the 4pm deadline on 4 April.”
The deadline for the withdrawal of any nominations is also 4pm on 4 April.
Completed forms must be hand delivered to the council’s Westfields Offices, on Middlewich Road, Sandbach, between 9.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, and in advance of the 4pm deadline on Tuesday 4 April.
