Officers are appealing witnesses and video footage following a serious collision in Brereton, near Sandbach.
Shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday 6 July police were called to reports of a collision on the A534 Spark Lane at the junction of Moorhead Lane.
Officers attended the scene and found the incident involved three vehicles – a white Toyota van, a green Mini Cooper and a green Scania HGV.
The driver of the mini, a 30-year-old man, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision; he remains in hospital at the current time.
Police Constable Gary Nicholls, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Enquiries in relation to this collision have been ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
“As part of our investigation I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, the same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to a woman who was seen talking to the driver of the white Anne’s Pantry van at the scene of the collision.
“The woman had left the scene prior to our arrival but we believe she may have vital information and are keen to speak to her as soon as possible.”
