Police in Macclesfield are investigating a spate of homophobic and transphobic messaging which have appeared on lampposts in the town.
There have been three reports of sightings of the posters in Exchange Street and nearby streets in the town centre over the past couple of days.
Officers are in the process of checking CCTV and making enquiries in the area to find those responsible.
Inspector Richard Haque said:
“The posters are highly offensive. It is incredibly sad that this form of hate is being peddled in our communities and we will not tolerate it.
“I would urge anyone with information that may help us to contact us. That also goes for anyone who has dashcam that may have captured someone putting the posters up.”
