Cheshire Constabulary’s tips for deterring thieves from targeting your homes and vehicles:
• Ensure that all windows are closed and doors are locked at your property, even when you are at home or in the garden
• Use security devices, such as steering locks, to keep vehicles secure especially those with a key code.
• Consider fitting door bolts fitted to the tops of internal doors.
• Store keyless-entry vehicle keys in signal-proof Faraday pouches away from windows and out of view.
• Have a burglar alarm fitted at your home, make sure that it is installed properly and works
• Keep vehicle computer systems up to date.
• Consideration of driveway bollards.
• If you have CCTV or an alarm, make sure they work, and you know how to use them.
