Police Officers are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Crewe.
At 3pm on Saturday 15 April officers were called to reports of a collision near to Aldi, on Nantwich Road, Crewe.
The caller reported that a dog had been hit by a white Mercedes Sprinter at the traffic lights.
Sadly, the dog died as a result of the collision, with the driver of the van failing to stop at the scene.
Police have been conducting extensive enquiries since the collision and officers are now appealing specifically for the driver of a white Mercedes Sprinter van believed to be involved in the collision to come forward.
Sergeant Josh Jones of Crewe Neighbourhood Beat Team said:
“Nantwich road would have been quite busy at this time and there would have been several drivers and pedestrians who may have seen something that could assist us in establishing the exact circumstances of the incident.
“We’re particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white Mercedes Sprinter van, that is believed to be connected to the incident.
"We believe that the occupant of this vehicle may have vital information that could assist us as witnesses in our investigation and urge them to contact Cheshire Police.”
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or visit:
