An initial hearing relating to the fire at Beechmere retirement village in Crewe took place at Warrington Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday 17 October).
The case involves the prosecution of six companies for alleged failures to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, following an investigation into the fire in August 2019.
Three of the six companies entered not guilty pleas and three did not indicate a plea at this stage.
The case has now been referred to Crown Court for trial, with the first pre-trial hearing to take place at Chester Crown Court on 14 November 2023 at 9.45am.
