East Cheshire Hospice has been handed over £1,000 thanks to a ‘Will Week’ initiative by Bollington-based specialist wills and trusts company, Moneybox Wills and Trusts.
Will Week, a national fundraiser which aims to raise awareness of the benefits and necessity of having a will and where will writers waive their usual fee, donating the value of the fee to a charity instead, took place in October 2021.
Speaking about their participation and the donation, Joe Etherington, Head of Wills and Trusts at Moneybox said, “Will Week is a great initiative as it highlights a really important issue; the need for people to get their affairs in order and gives an opportunity to make a future legacy.
“The Hospice does such wonderful work in supporting residents and their families and we really wanted to give something back.”
Receiving the cheque, Beth England, Individual Giving Fundraiser, said: “Gifts from wills make up about a third of the Hospice’s fundraising income so we are delighted to not only receive this donation, but that Will Week has raised awareness about how making a gift in your will can help secure the future of the Hospice enabling generations to come access our vital care.”
