Officers are asking for information regarding a fatal car accident in Handforth on Monday 21st May.
Police were called to a crash between a silver Ford Fiesta and a white Jaguar on Manchester Road, Wilmslow at approximately 7:45 am on Monday 21st May.
The driver of the Fiesta, a 53-year-old man from Stockport, failed to stop after the first collision and continued to drive, where he hit a 29-year-old woman near the Freemasons Arms.
He preceded to drive until he collided with a second car, parked by Handforth Garage.
Sadly, the woman involved in the crash sustained serious injuries and later died at Royal Salford Hospital.
An Officer said:
"The incident took place at a busy time of the day and I believe that it may have been witnessed by many other motorists and pedestrians who could assist with our investigation."
"I urge anyone who witnessed the collisions, or who believes that they have any information which could assist the investigation to contact the Roads Policing Team on 101."
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision, but has since been released from the investigation.
