Firefighters at Middlewich Fire Station are inviting people to join them for a Brew with the Crew on Saturday 25 May between 10am and 2pm.
Brew with the Crew also celebrates the 130th anniversary of the opening of Middlewich's first fire station and, to recognise former firefighters, a Station Honours Board will be unveiled at 11am. The Honours Board details everyone who has served at Middlewich since 1938 and showcases the history of the three Middlewich Fire Stations.
Staff, family, friends and anyone who would like to join the crew will be welcomed to share in the time-honoured tradition of a cuppa and cake around the mess table, a tour of the fire station and a close up look at the operational vehicles.
Watch Manager Ash Powell has been co-ordinating the event along with the Middlewich firefighters. He said: "There is a strong family tradition of firefighting in Middlewich, and we are hoping those who have served, and the families of those who have served here, will be able to come and join us. We would love to welcome them back through the doors and to hear their memories, their stories and the changes there have been in firefighting over the years."
Brew with the Crew is a free event with donations welcomed for The Fire Fighters Charity.
