Excitement is building as Congleton prepares for the return of its hugely popular Food & Drink Festival this Sunday 7th June, from 10.30am - 4.30pm.
Organised by Congleton Town Council, this free event promises a bigger and better experience than ever, attracting thousands of visitors from across Cheshire and beyond.
With just days to go, festival organisers are urging visitors to leave the car at home and make the most of the FREE Beartown Bus service, funded by Congleton Town Council. The Beartown 90-93 A/C service does not normally operate on Sundays, but thanks to funding from the town council, the buses will be running throughout the day to help residents and visitors travel to and from the festival without the hassle of parking, traffic queues or town centre road closures.
The special Sunday service will operate to the same timetable as the regular D&G Monday to Saturday service. Visitors can download the D&G Bus Tracker app to view live bus information and check when their bus is due to arrive. Buses run approximately every 30 minutes on most routes.
Timetables and route information:
• 90 Congleton – Bromley Estate: 90 | D&G Bus
• 91 Congleton – Mossley: 91 | D&G Bus
• 92 Congleton – Buglawton: 92 | D&G Bus

Mayor of Congleton, Cllr Suzy Firkin, said:
"The Food & Drink Festival is a highlight of Congleton’s events calendar and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors this weekend. Congleton Town Council is proud to fund the free Beartown Bus service, ensuring people can travel into the town centre at no cost. As the routes do not normally run on Sundays, this is a special service for the festival. We encourage everyone to leave the car at home, avoid parking and traffic queues, and enjoy a relaxed day out. The free buses are a great example of the town council investing in community events, supporting accessibility and helping everyone take part in what promises to be a fantastic day for Congleton."
The town centre will be packed with flavour, entertainment and family fun. More than 80 food and drink stalls will showcase the very best local produce alongside exciting international street food, artisan treats and sweet delights. Visitors can also enjoy a tempting selection of craft beers and gins, while town centre shops, pubs and hospitality venues join in the celebrations.
Families will find plenty to keep children entertained, with activities inside Congleton Town Hall, live music, face painting, circus skills workshops and roaming entertainment throughout the day.
An inclusivity area at The_Space will provide a quieter environment for anyone needing time away from the crowds, helping to ensure the event is welcoming and accessible for all. Festival layouts have been carefully designed with accessibility and public safety in mind.
The festival is made possible thanks to the generous support of its sponsors. Platinum Sponsor: Congleton Eats. Gold Sponsors: Barley Hops & Grape and Stephenson Browne Estate Agents.
Visitors are reminded that High Street, Mill Street and Swan Bank will be closed to traffic from 7am to 6pm to allow the festival to take place safely. Due to the large crowds expected, organisers also ask that dogs are left at home where possible.
The closest disabled parking to the festival is at Fairground Car Park, CW12 1BP, which has six designated disabled bays. Please note that all Cheshire East Council car park charges officially apply on Sundays. Visitors are encouraged to check current parking charges and information before travelling.
