Cheshire East Council has launched a new recruitment campaign to inspire people to consider a career in adult social care – with the message: ‘We need someone like you… to care for someone like you.’
The campaign, entitled ‘Someone Like You’, features staff and councillors in a short film which captures the compassion, dedication and impact of their work in adult social care.
From helping with meals and medication to offering companionship and dignity, the campaign showcases the everyday acts of kindness that really can make a life-changing difference.
Councillor Jill Rhodes, Cheshire East Council’s adults and health committee chair, said:
“This campaign is about celebrating the incredible people who support our residents every day – and showing that you don’t need experience to make a difference.
“Any of us could end up needing care at some point in our lives and if you have patience, compassion and heart, you already have what it takes. We’re proud to highlight the voices of our staff and carers, and we hope it inspires others to join our vital workforce.”
The campaign’s visual identity was developed in collaboration with Macclesfield design agency Fluid, who worked closely with council staff to bring the message to life.
Tom McDonnell, managing director at Fluid, said:
“We wanted to create something authentic and emotionally resonant. By using real people and real words, we’ve built a campaign that feels personal and powerful.
“The boards used in the short film are designed to speak directly to the viewer – to make them feel seen, valued, and invited to be part of something meaningful.”
The recruitment campaign will be promoted across Cheshire East through bus advertising, digital billboards in Crewe and Macclesfield, pull-up banners, posters and social media.
