Officers are appealing for information from the public following an unexplained death in Macclesfield.
At around 6.48pm on Friday 18th July, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address in Pearson Street, Macclesfield.
Officers and paramedics attended, and a 72-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained while officers conduct enquiries in relation to the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector David Hutcheon said:
“We are in the early stages of our investigation to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened and at the current time it appears this is an isolated incident.
“You may see a police presence in and around the Pearson Street area as part of this investigation.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have any information in relation to the incident to come forward, or anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area recently."
