Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hosting three public engagement sessions in October to share details of its plans to develop a local health and care neighbourhood, which will include Crewe’s new Leighton Hospital.
The sessions will allow people to get fully up-to-date about the progress being made, and put questions to the Trust’s Healthier Futures programme team, which is delivering this ambitious scheme.
Attendees will also be invited to share comments and provide feedback about the scheme and how it will impact them.
The sessions will be held on the follow dates:
- Thursday 3 October 2024 – St Peter's Community Hall, Leighton-cum-Minshull Vernon, Middlewich Road, Crewe, CW1 4RD from 10am to 12noon
- Monday 7 October 2024 - The Coppenhall Working Mens Club, 103 North St, Crewe CW1 4NJ from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
- Saturday 12 October – Coppenhall Methodist Church, 110 Bradfield Rd, Crewe CW1 3RD from 11am to 1pm
Anyone unable to attend the events, will be able to learn about the programme, have their say, or ask any questions, via:
...which has a feedback form.
Alternatively, people can email:
engaginghealthierfutures@mcht.nhs.uk
The public will have until 5pm on Sunday 20 October to have their say and share their thoughts.
Chris Knights, Programme Director for the Trust’s Healthier Futures Programme, said:
“We are fully committed to involving the public, partners, and stakeholders in our plans.
“This is an exciting time, as we have a once in a generation opportunity to change how healthcare is delivered, so I would encourage people to attend the events and be part of this shared journey.
“We want to work together with our local communities to create a new healthcare model, a place where people receive care in their homes and communities and can access services or go to hospital when they need to.
“It will be a place where resources are utilised well, and people are actively involved in their care. A place where technology, digital and data will help both proactive and personalised care be more effective, a place where we look after each other, we collaborate, where people join forces to improve the whole.
“A place of 'Healthier Futures' for people across Mid Cheshire.”
Earlier this year, the Trust reached a significant milestone in its plans for the development of a new Leighton by purchasing land directly next to the existing hospital site.
Following this land acquisition in March, the Trust submitted a Strategic Outline Case (SOC), supported by Cheshire & Merseyside Integrated Care Board, to the national New Hospital Programme (NHP) team. The SOC, which is the initial business case for the development of the new Leighton Hospital, has now been endorsed by the NHP, so the Trust is now moving forward with the next stage of the project, the Outline Business Case.
