Detectives from Northwich CID have charged four people in relation to the kidnap of a man in Winsford.
On Tuesday 27th January police received reports that a man from Winsford had been assaulted and was being held against his will. The man was later located in the Winsford area.
Following enquiries officers subsequently arrested four people in relation to the incident
Reece Jackson, 35, of Austin Close in Winsford, and Millie McGreavy, 27, of Launceston Close in Winsford, have both since been charged with kidnap and false imprisonment.
The pair have appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 4th February, where they were remanded in custody. They are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 4th March.
Kyle McCann, 28, of Dee Way in Winsford, and Joshua Hastie, 33, of Weaver Grove in Winsford, have both been charged with false imprisonment.
Both men appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Thursday 29th January, where they were remanded in custody. They are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 26th February.
Detective Sergeant Neil Mooney, of Northwich CID, said:
“I understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause and I would like to reassure residents that it is believed to be isolated.
“Four people have already been charged, and we do not believe there is any risk to the public.”
