Knutsford Market Hall has lots planned for the Love your Local Market fortnight which begins on the 12th May.
Love your local Market is an annual campaign created by NABMA (The National Association of British Markets) celebrating local markets. The campaign is in its twelfth year and has now been adopted by twenty-four countries worldwide.
The Market Hall will kick things off on the 12th of May at 11am with a performance from Egerton Primary School Choir.
Throughout the fortnight the traders will have various competitions to enter including; Guess the weight of the steak with The Market Hall Butcher, Guess how many tumble stones are in the jar with NYX Cat Crystals and Guess the baby trader where you identify which baby picture matches each trader. There will also be golden envelopes hidden around the Market Hall for customers to find with a voucher prize inside.
On May 26th local resident and Knutsford Beer Festival committee member Kevin Jardine will be heading to the Market Hall Barber at 10am to have his head shaved to raise money for Christie Hospital. Jenny O’Brien and Janet Illingworth of the Knutsford branch of Christie Bears will also be in attendance on the morning helping to raise funds. The fortnight will conclude on the 27th May with a day of tastings in the market where customers can sample food from the different food traders involved.
Sandra Curties, Town Centre Manager, said, “We love LYLM, and we hope the additional promotion will encourage shoppers, existing and current to visit their local market. We really are a hidden gem offering a range of produce and products. With several new traders starting this year we have a wonderful collection of stalls offering an amazing selection of food plus a variety of gifts and clothing.”
Knutsford Market Hall is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 4pm.
