Knutsford Music Festival’s much awaited return is finally here, as it returns for its fourth year this weekend!
The festival kicks off on Friday 13th August for three days filled with music to suit all tastes and ages! Town centre businesses will keep you entertained all weekend, with music set to play in Wine and Wallop, Kuckoo, The Old Sessions House, Cheshire House Bar and Grill and even Knutsford Library at a pre-event on Thursday 12th!
Music will flow through the streets as performances take place right in the town centre, with performances on Cotton Shop Yard, King Street (near the Botanist) and Regent Street on Saturday and Sunday.
Those wanting to sit and enjoy some music in the sunshine can head down to the Moor on Saturday 14th August for four hours filled with live music, African drumming workshops, balloon modelling, face painting and food and drinks from local vendors and businesses! The event runs from 12-4pm and is entirely free to attend, with all ages welcome.
Folk fans still have a chance to grab tickets to BBC’s Mark Radcliffe’s very popular folk nights, kicking off on Friday 13th with a second night on Saturday 14th. The events are held at St John’s Church this year instead of their usual home at Knutsford Little Theatre due to the larger venue size which can better facilitate any Covid-19 measures.
The first night kicks off with headliner Blue Rose Code, who is described as ‘one of the best live acts around right now’ by Americana UK. They perform with their full band and are supported by local singer-songwriter Sam Lyon, who has been a favourite at the festival previously.
Saturday night headliners The Breath feature the 2019 and 2020 Folk Singer of the Year Riognach Connelly, and sublime guitarist Stuart McCallum. They are supported by Young Folk Award nominee Amelia Coburn and singer-songwriter duo The Dorman Long. You can still buy tickets for £15 each via the festival website or in person at the Town Council office on Toft Road. Limited tickets may be available on the door depending on capacity.
