Local businesses, suppliers, contractors and social enterprises are being invited to a supplier readiness event to find out more about future opportunities linked to the new Leighton Hospital programme.
The event, hosted by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will take place at Crewe Alexandra FC on Tuesday 29 September 2026 from 08:00 to 12:00. It will bring together programme partners, delivery teams and local organisations to share more about the Healthier Futures programme, the development of the new Leighton Hospital in Crewe and how businesses can begin preparing for future supply chain opportunities.
The new Leighton Hospital is one of the largest public investments in Crewe for a generation. Alongside creating a modern hospital for patients, staff and communities, the Trust wants to ensure the programme supports wider local benefit by helping businesses understand, prepare for and connect with opportunities as the programme develops.
The morning session will include a welcome and programme overview, followed by an open supplier engagement session where attendees can speak to programme and construction partners, learn more about supply chain readiness, and access support on registration, skills, training, apprenticeships and social value.
Russ Favager, Board Senior Responsible Officer for the Leighton New Hospital Programme at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“The new Leighton Hospital is about much more than bricks and mortar. It is a once in a generation opportunity to create a modern health and care environment for our communities, while also making sure the benefits of this investment are felt locally.
“We know there is a wealth of skill, expertise and ambition across Crewe, Cheshire and the surrounding area. This event is about opening the door early, helping local businesses understand the programme, and giving them practical information so they can prepare for future opportunities.
“Supporting local economic growth, skills and social value is an important part of our Healthier Futures ambition. We want to work with our partners to ensure local suppliers, SMEs and social enterprises are well informed, connected and ready to engage as the programme progresses.”
The event is aimed at organisations based within 25 miles of the Leighton Hospital site, including small and medium-sized enterprises, voluntary, community and social enterprises, construction and engineering businesses, manufacturers, digital and technology organisations, facilities and support service providers, and specialist suppliers.
Attendees will be able to learn more about the vision and scale of the development, hear from programme and construction partners, understand wider Healthier Futures ambitions, and find out how to position their organisation for future engagement.
Businesses can register their interest using the supplier interest form:

The Trust has made clear that this is early engagement and not a procurement process. Registering interest or attending the event does not guarantee future work or confer any advantage in relation to future contracting opportunities.
Healthier Futures is Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s programme to develop a new health and care neighbourhood, including the new Leighton Hospital. The programme aims to support better outcomes for patients, staff and communities, while working with partners to maximise wider benefits for Mid Cheshire.
