Local groups and organisations in Congleton have until 10th March 2025 to submit grant applications for funding from the Margaret Williamson Fund.
The fund, established in memory of Margaret Williamson, supports environmental, educational, and cultural projects that benefit the Congleton community.
Cathy Dean, Congleton Partnership Officer, encourages local groups to apply, stating:
“Margaret was instrumental in founding the Congleton Partnership, she was a passionate advocate for Congleton’s cultural and environmental well-being. This fund continues her legacy by supporting projects that make a real difference in the community. We look forward to seeing applications from organisations eager to contribute to Margaret’s vision.”
This year, around £1,400 is available for distribution to projects that align with the fund’s objectives. To be eligible, projects and beneficiaries must be within the Congleton and District area, defined by the CW12 postcode or 01260 STD Code.
This year, the application process includes a new online application form, accessible at:
https://congletonpartnership.co.uk/project/margaret-williamson-memorial/
For those who prefer a paper application form, requests can be made by contacting Cathy Dean.
The Trustees of the Fund are particularly interested in projects that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Provide opportunities for people to take part in musical, theatrical, literary, performing arts, dance, or other artistic activities.
- Offer education and awareness of the natural environment, particularly among young people.
- Conserve or improve the natural environment for the benefit of Congleton and District residents.
Applications will be reviewed in late March, with funds being distributed in April.
