MP Highlights Kickstarter Campaign To Open Local Fine Dining Restaurant

Local MP, David Rutley, recently visited ‘The Copper Room’, a potential new family owned fine dining restaurant, to help promote its Kickstarter campaign, so that it can open in the heart of Macclesfield.

During David’s visit, the potential owners, Amy and Rick Armstrong, explained more about their exciting new plans for the restaurant and the positive progress being made with their Kickstarter campaign. ‘The Copper Room’ will be a fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar, with a focus on using locally sourced seasonal produce to serve food cooked in a modern European style. This includes steak, seafood, fresh pasta, homemade breads and delicious desserts. The ground floor of the venue will also turn into a late-night cocktail bar, with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere, suitable for pre or post dinner drinks.

Amy and Rick are asking local residents to participate in the rewards based all or nothing campaign to raise the £40,000 funds they need to open the restaurant. As it stands ‘The Copper Room’ is 50 per cent funded, but the campaign has until Saturday evening on 15th May to reach its 100 per cent target. There are a range of rewards to choose from and Amy and Rick say that all pledges are completely risk free, as contributors will not be charged until the final day of the campaign and only if the target is met. Rewards include: lunch or dinner for tables of up to 6; cooking lessons; an exclusive hire of the restaurant and many more. This family run local business is hoping to employ 10 people in the restaurant, providing opportunities for local employment and boosting the local economy. As we move along the Roadmap out of lockdown, ‘The Copper Room’ would be a welcome addition to the local hospitality sector, helping to revitalise the town centre and providing local residents with a new venue for relaxing with friends and family. ‘The Copper Room’ is located in one of Macclesfield's most historic buildings, Charles Roe House. The stunning Grade II* listed building sits on the corner of Chestergate and Churchill Way and is currently closed but could be a vibrant new restaurant for people to enjoy.

Following his visit, David said, “The Copper Room would be a positive addition to the town centre and I hope many local residents will review Amy and Rick’s Kickstarter campaign to help them open the restaurant. Their energy and enthusiasm is infectious and they are well placed to add new life to one of Macclesfield’s great heritage assets.”
