Town Mayor of Bollington announces partnership with local air ambulance charity

Councillor Dickie Fletcher, Town Mayor of Bollington, has announced they are partnering with the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) as part of the local lives partnership.

It is a borough-wide effort to support lifesaving emergency care for local communities throughout Cheshire.  

During their mayoral year, Councillor Fletcher will work in partnership with the North West Air Ambulance Charity to champion local lives, bringing together residents, schools and businesses to raise awareness and vital funds. 

As part of this commitment, the Mayor will lead the Bollington Local Lives Partnership, a community-focused initiative designed to unite people behind a shared mission: helping to ensure advanced, hospital-level care can reach patients in their moment of greatest need. 

The North West Air Ambulance Charity delivers enhanced pre-hospital care at the scene of the most serious incidents, serving a population of more than eight million people across the North West, from Carlisle to Crewe.  

With three helicopters and four critical care cars, its crews operate 365 days a year, attending an average of 10 incidents each day. 

The charity receives no government or NHS funding and relies entirely on public donations, needing to raise over £18 million each year to continue its lifesaving work. 

Councillor Dickie Fletcher, Town Mayor of Bollington, said:

“By bringing our community together through the Bollington Local Lives Partnership, we can help ensure this vital service continues to be there for anyone who may need it.”

The partnership will include a programme of fundraising and community activities taking place across Bollington throughout the mayoral year, offering opportunities for people of all ages to get involved and support the charity’s work.
