Two people have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B Drugs after the Roads and Crime Team stopped a car on the M56 between junction 9 and 8 in Macclesfield.
At 6.23pm on Sunday 1st December, officers from the unit stopped the car travelling along the motorway and conducted a search of the vehicle.
Two large bags of cannabis were seized from the boot, and the driver and passenger, a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Both have since been released on bail.
Chief Inspector Cameron Taylor said:
“Anyone who comes to Cheshire with the intention of committing a crime should think twice as our officers are out 24/7 disrupting criminal activity and arresting those suspected of being involved in illegal activity.”
