Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire John Dwyer and Cheshire Constabulary Chief Constable Marks Roberts are seeking people to join the Independent Ethics Panel.
The Ethics Panel provides a forum for independent review of ethical issues in the police service to help inform the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Cheshire Constabulary. The Panel also helps the ensure that the Constabulary acts with transparency to give wider reassurance to the public of Cheshire.
Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, said:
“Volunteers will be looking closely at how the Constabulary operate to ensure the presence of integrity and transparency.
“This is a unique role and a great opportunity to be involved in providing reassurance to the communities of Cheshire that the police service that they are receiving is the best it can be.”
Cheshire Constabulary Chief Constable, Mark Roberts, said:
“Effective Policing is vital for any community to feel secure and it is now more complex and fast moving than ever before.
Our people work with courage and commitment to keep the people of Cheshire safe and it is crucial that the public have confidence that we are doing so in an ethical and transparent manner.

- Workforce statistics (diversity issues)
- Stop and search
- Use of force
- Hate crime
- Complaints
- Custody visiting statistics
- Vetting
