“I was delighted to join a group of makers, Wedgwood craftspeople, Stoke luminaries and Wedgwood family members to celebrate 250 years of Wedgwood's jasperware with a wonderful meal created by the contestants of Celebrity MasterChef. I'm looking forward to seeing if my favourite wins!”
Former Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent and the city council’s Centenary Champion, Councillor Lyn Sharpe, said:
“I love Stoke-on-Trent and I’m proud to help share our story on such a well-loved show in our Centenary year. Josiah Wedgwood shaped this city and his legacy still runs through our city and our people. His drive to try new ideas made us the world capital of ceramics and that spirit still defines Stoke-on-Trent today.”
Jonny Shelton, Film Office Manager at Screen Staffordshire, commented:
“Screen Staffordshire are delighted to have seen MasterChef shoot at World of Wedgwood. In putting historic and unique Staffordshire locations and their stories on screen, nationally-renowned shows like MasterChef bring a real positive energy, economic impact and civic pride to the area’s locality. We hope to see MasterChef back around these parts soon and welcome them with open arms.”
World of Wedgwood is proud to host Celebrity MasterChef, helping shine a light on the ceramics industry and Stoke-on-Trent’s remarkable heritage. With Wedgwood celebrating 250 years of Jasperware and Stoke-on-Trent celebrating 100 years of official status, it’s the perfect festive viewing for foodies, Wedgwood enthusiasts, and Stokies alike!
