Knutsford will be joining towns and villages across the UK and commonwealth to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8th May with a commemorative service and beacon lighting.
2025 marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day, a historic milestone marking the end of the Second World War in Europe.
The evening service will pay tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of those who lived through the war, and to those who gave their lives in the fight for freedom.
The service will be led by Knutsford Town Mayor, Cllr Colins Banks and his Chaplin Rev Paul Deakin.
A memorial service will commence at 9:00pm at the Centennial War Memorial with a beacon being lit at 9:30pm as beacons are lit across the country.
